The purpose of ‘The Story of London’ is to create a compelling narrative; simply the story of the city of London from the depths of pre-History all the way until the modern era. Along the way I try and explain developments as they happen from point of view of the residents at the time. So while we understand how things fit within the board tapestry of history, everything is in sequence.

By focusing on just one place we are able to get fresh insights into the events of the past and discover the passions, fascinations and obsessions of London.
